Why has America limited the entrepreneurial spirit to those 18 and over?
Question: I think people under the age of 18 are capable enough to start their own business, and the idea should be welcomed more than anything. People between the ages of 15-18 know better what kids want, and they could create more successful businesses. If I wanted to create my own website and make money through affiliates and pay per click ads, I cannot successfully do this, because for most things you have to be 18 to participate. You have to be 18 to use most affiliate programs, Google AdSense, and to set up an account with a service like paypal or neteller to transfer money online. Does anyone know of any services that do not require an age limit of 18?
Answers:
Don't take anything out on America until you know the facts. I'm a small business consultant, and I assist all ages in learning how to start their own business. click ads, affiliates, surveys and such are "jobs" and you'd not be owning your own company, not owning your own business. I've known of people starting at age 13 who start their own businesses, it's put into their parents' name until they reach 18, but that doesn't stop the young person from providing ideas and working behind the scenes on their own business.
