I have 2 new sites both been going for about 6 weeks and I've submitted then to the search engines,registered them with a traffic exchange(some would say a waste of time but it works for me),I use software that submits an ad to 500 or so rss feeds to various sites,blogs and forums,plus I have links to other sites,the result so far is quite good-Google,MSN,plus a couple of smaller search engines plus Alexa have spidered/indexed my sites,and I'm getting a steady flow of traffic to each site... all this has taken a bit of research ,a bit of trial and error and no more than £5 for some software,so don't get disheartened just do a bit more research and do some of what I've done,if you have a product to sell advertise it on a free ads site like free-ads.net,if you are providing as service for a particular subject ,do a search for forums relating to it,or write a blog. :0)
