It is always recommended to experiment with a bunch of different layouts and colors. There are two possible problems with your design:
1 - BIG PROBLEM: Google allows a maximum of 3 ads per page - you have 4 plus the search box
2 - smaller problem - google could get a bit sensitive about making the ads look like they are a part of the website itself. You have to clearly separate the ads from the rest of the content - I made mine stand out and so far the results are pretty satisfactory. ( http://www.talentbox.com )

The key is to blend in the good use of colours and pics which google allow as the ads don't look like ads! An adsense site can be perfect but the key is getting people to it. Also to make money from adsense you must have a significant number of sites to make it worthwhile. Check out the name joel Comm on google to get good ideas on adsense.
