How to carry on a section of URL from one non-parameter page to another?

Question:
For example, I have affiliates I.D's by 5 numbers (XXXXX). My site has a Google-friendly page URL like:

http://www. mysite .com/XXXXX/demo/niche/index.ht...

and I want the "Buy Now" button to carry on the affiliate I.D. to link to:

http://www. mysite .com/buy.html?affil:XXXXX

Thank you muchly.
You are going to have to know what page you are on (obviously), this could even be hard coded considering you know what affiliate you are dealing with.

If you do not know at design time, you could find this value at run-time by parsing the current URL, look for the 5 characters after the 3rd '/'.

Then you are almost there, you need your link to look like this:

http://www. mysite .com/buy.html?affil=XXXXX
