The best I can advise is to blog a lot more often. I would try to at least put something up every weekday so that you get a bigger resource of information and posting. The more content you have the more connected it will be to search spiders picking up and the more people will find it and read it.
Adsense is all based on how many people see the ads, if the keywords are related to the page and how many people actually click them.
The only way to bump that up is to get more visitors and make the ads more specific to what you are blogging about. You do this by blogging about a lot more stuff.
In the way of overall appearance, it is a great starting point, but you can certainly punch it up with some more graphics. The graphic of the dollar bills can probably be done a bit better too with a more clean looking graphic (the graphic you have there is a bit distorted and has artifacts... artifacts are those little squiggly pixels you see in some jpeg type pictures. You get rid of them by making the picture a more appropriate size and making sure to bump up the resolution on the graphic).
Maybe add some more interactive elements like voting polls, spark conversations, shoutboxes maybe, or even something like a contest.
It is up to you but those are a few ideas that can help spark the site into drawing more visitors for when you go to adsense which needs a lot of traffic to generate some substantial cash flow.
