Well I work with a company that uses affiliate marketing and network marketing. It would be silly to say that affiliate marketing is a scam. Scroll to the bottom of any major website and there will be a little link that says "become an affiliate". Affiliate marketing pays on performance and saves companies millions of dollars in advertising alone. Your job is to be aware of what it takes for an affiliate marketing or network marketing company to be successful. That way when looking at a company you can make a legitimate assessment of whether that company is a good option for you. I say this because the average Joe will ask his poor friend/neighbor/relative for financial advice rather than educating themselves. If you find a good company the potential for creating residual income is amazing. I did my best to put in my two cents, if you still have questions just send me an email.

There are websites that have no real content and just display ad's from places like Googles Adsense. I know people who have bought these sites ready made as a source of income.
To make money as an affiliate requires a lot of time,efforts and patience you will never make money automatically since you need to promote your affiliate site which will require you to learn internet marketing.

Listen up I know more about affiliate marketing than most:
Ive been making over $1k a day for the past few years as an affiliate. Its no walk in the park...Its not free money but if you work hard, the money is pretty good. people do make money but you needs good affilate product that wannabe buyers would trust and it seems like it is kind of hard to get. to be safest in doing affiliate marketing try the free advertising methods first to get the idea whether the product has good conversion rate. you could do it using article marketing. i know it is hard to write but if you want to make money online you need to be an expert in your field so people would trust you. try it first it is free. check my profile for info in doing biz online.
You can make a full-time income as an affiliate marketer but
their is a learning curve. You need to do alot of research first..
find out what products and services appeal to online users,
which programs offer the best incentives, how to effectively
promote those affiliate programs over the Internet, etc.

I felt the same way, back when I first started last Christmas, all I kept finding was guys selling ebooks on how to make money reselling their ebooks.
