Is adsense worthwile? any good affiliate programs?
Question: I am creating a website and would like to put some ads on it to help pay for hosting. Does adsense require a ss number to register? should I incorporate my website and give them a tax ID instead? how much can you make a month? i didn't see any table stating their payment schedule based on clicks or purchases. is there a better arrangement out there? i am new to all of this. maybe an affiliate program? thanks!
You don't have to incorporate your website.. just provide them your ss# for tax purposes...
you need to bring in atleast 20,000 traffic to earn about $50 -100
affiliates earn more $$$
good luck!

Hmmm. This is an interesting question. One I have been pondering myself to some degree. I don't have the answer to your first three questions. I have sites, but don't use Ad Sense. I know people who do and, as a matter of fact, this was a question that was answered on a training call I was on this past week. I am using Richard Dennis' networking training, and applying it to my enterprises on the web. Richard, stated that with Ad Sense, you need to have an add that will really apply to your niche market, and make them want to buy. Most people that click, even if they aren't looking for what you are selling, are curious. You will pay for their curiosity. what you want is not the most click thru's, but actual people stopping and buying. He recommended some people who are experts at Ad Copy to emulate, and get our ideas from. I don't actually remember who he said, but he is a very available kind of guy, and you can ask him yourself. He also is an expert on Affiliate programs, and has very rel event info on companies and their policies and procedures. This means, he can tell you if you will make any money with them or not. Sorry the answer is so long, you asked a lot of questions, at one time. I hope that some of this helps.
hi there,
for alternative ad or affiliate networks try here http://www.webeki.com/index.php?option=c...
concerning the monthly earnings, well that depends entirely of your website traffic. IIf you develop a website ad networks works just fine, but if you develop a blog like website, affiliate networks also have a vrey good earnings level
If your creating a new website, I'd probably concentrate on building up some regular search engine traffic first, adsense is good, I've made most of my online money using them, but in the early stages of a website having little traffic and having adsense doesn't really pay off, especially when you can go months without seeing a single click on your ads, it's a little disheartening. Once you have the traffic though you'll see daily clicks, What I have noticed is that a site with low paying ad sense ads with about 500 visits a day from search engines mostly with well placed ads can make ya 1 dollar a day and with say 5000 visits a day you can make $20 a day, though it is not a definite calculation.
Just concentrate on getting loads of traffic to your site. More traffic more possible clickers more money.
WHAT IS IT EXACTLY?
Adsense is a way to monetize and earn money from your site by putting Google ads from their advertising network Adwords. It has been around since June 2003 and Adsense has allowed many website owners to earn from their sites. I highly recommend going through the Adsense Quick Tour to learn more about the program http://www.google.com/services/adsense_t...
HOW DOES IT WORK
You apply and once you get approved, you can put in the Adsense code in your site. Here are the instructions on how to add Adsense codes on your site https://www.google.com/adsense/support/b...
You earn through various ways:
1. Pay per click - this is the common way to earn which is you earn every time a visitor clicks on your ads
2. Pay per impression - an advertiser can specifically target your site and show ads where you earn via cost per 1,000 impression (e.g. you earn every time someone sees your ad, even though they don't click on it)
3. Referral - you can also earn if you refer a visitor to use Adsense or Adwords, download the Google toolbar, etc.
WHAT PERSONAL INFO DO I HAVE TO GIVE?
In the application form https://www.google.com/adsense/g-app-sin... you will give
- your name
- your address
- if your country qualifies for electronic fund transfer and you wish to be paid by EFT, your bank details
- your SSN or tax account number if you are in the US as Google reports Adsense income to the IRS
IS IT WORTH IT AND HOW MUCH MONEY PER MONTH DOES IT BRING IN?
Some sites do very well with Adsense (even in the millions of dollars a year) while many more sites do extremely poorly with the program (can't even earn $10 a month). One of the misconception people have about Adsense is they simply slap it in their websites and it will automatically earn them big money -- which is not true as evidenced by the many disgruntled webmasters
Your income will depend on:
- the topic of your site (if you have high paying keywords you stand to earn more)
- responsiveness of users to ad (are visitors coming to your site with blinders in their eye or do they look at the ads as additional complementary resource)
- traffic (you earn more with more traffic, even if you have low paying keywords or other metrics)
- how you implement the ads on your site (some positions and colors work better than others)
I suggest you join the program (you've got nothing to lose as it is free) and see how your site will do with it. I've been with Adsense since June 2003 and it's been a GREAT income generating program for us. So for me, Adsense is definitely worth it
The only way to profit from google adsense is to have 30 to 200 web pages including blog pages, google will pay an average
of $1.00 per click or impression per page daily. That is why having unlimited bandwidth give the web owner unlimited web pages.

Google will ask you for a relevant keyword that is relevant to the page on your site so that other publishers can see & post
there ad on your site.
