I'm infinitely confused as to why people confuse gang membership with something as benign as jaywalking?

I've lived in and around Los Angeles for 51 years now and I know full well what the gangs have done to this city and the other towns they have invaded. The police deaprtment seems to be doing some good with gang enforcement, but the gangs just continue to thrive. One big thing is the way they have expanded across the country. No place is sacred. My grandson's step son thinks gangs are just wonderful and every time I talk to him, I try to tell him what they do. The way the music industry glamorizes them make them attractive to young people. This has to stop. We need more people like you to step up and speak out about this. It's our future and our children's future.
what kind of pity do we show? i know i don't..but i agree and like the analogy of gangs to terrorism..
No pity here. I'd like to see them all in a nice cold prison where they can kill each other off, one by one.
the only difference between Al-Qaida and these other gangs is that one of them isn't blowing up the Trade Towers in NYC....to me gangs are pointless and is not only ruining cities but the youth...but many join gangs because they had a rough childhood and thus seek confidants such as drug dealers that make them feel welcome
