What should be the content of website to make much mony from google adsense?

Question:

Google Adsense - It works well and on a few of my sites I make $500 to $600 per month!

Many sites use AdSense to monetize their content and some webmasters work hard to maximize their own AdSense income. They do this in three ways:
1.They use a wide range of traffic generating techniques including but not limited to online advertising.
2.They build valuable content on their sites; content which attracts AdSense ads and which pay out the most when they get clicked.
3.They use copy on their websites that encourage clicks on Ads. Note that Google prohibits people from using phrases like "Click on my AdSense ads" to increase click rates. Phrases accepted are "Sponsored Links" and "Advertisements".

This is a complex question and one that I spend much time explaining to my clients.

In simple terms, you want to pick keywords that are expensive for PPC advertisers. Since you are getting a percentage of each click you want the clicks to be expensive.

Then you want to design webpages that target these same keywords so that lots of people come to your website and click on the ads. Sounds simple but the competition is fierce.

This is the key to 90+% of the "Make Money on the Internet" offers that you see everywhere. Many of the others are "Become Affiliates and Get Rich" approaches.

The best content that earns thousands and thousands from Adsense are the types of content where the visitors are looking to spend money. The publisher's site is not the final site. The visitors should be looking for something else -- not because they find the site to be trash and can't wait to get out of the site, but because the site provides the information while the ads provide the resources.

Case in point: a review site. Review sites are perfect for Adsense because customers are interested in reading product comparisons. More importantly, customers are looking to buy something, and the website is merely a step to help the visitors decide on what to buy.

Or a travel information site. Visitors are looking for information about the tourist destination, and they are more likely to be interested in ads about hotels or airfare shown by Adsense.

Sites that attract gargantuan traffic also earn a lot from Adsense -- even with low paying keywords. PlentyofFish.com has an Alexa rank of 688, so their huge huge traffic compensates for the low paying dating ads that they have. This site earned a million in the first 3 months of 2006.

In terms of earning money on Adsense, your mileage varies. One website with the 10,000 uniques a day can earn $50 a month while another may earn $5,000. It is not easy to predict how much you will earn from Adsense. The only way you can learn about how your site will perform with Adsense is through trying it.

The amount you can earn will depend on the

1. Responsiveness of audience to the ads = Users looking to book a travel to Spain comes to your site about tourist destinations in Spain is a site that will do well with Adsense as users are more likely to click on an ad about hotels in Spain. However, if you are a gaming website where the main purpose of the user is to play games on your site, then Adsense will not perform as well.

2. Ad format = some types of ads do better than others depending on your content and layout. In our case, large rectangles in the middle of the content is the best, while leaderboards do not generate as much as income. Skys are the worst for us. Experiment and measure the results via channels and see which formats work best for you.

3. Ad placement - check Google's heat map as they have tested where the best placements are https://www.google.com/support/adsense/b...

4. Ad colors - sometimes ads blended into the content works wonders, but sometimes ads that contrast your site colors work best

5. Number of ad units on a page = we are allowed maximum of 3 ads + 1 ad links + 1 search box on a page. Maximize the allowed number based on the resulting look of your page (you don't want an overkill of ads). Users going to your page and reading your content may ignore the banner or rectangle at the top of the page, but may click on the ad at the bottom of the article

6. Smartpricing - the big unknown in Adsense. No one knows how this actually works

Experiment with the factors above (except smartpricing, which you can't control), and see which combination works best. Remember though that not all sites do well with Adsense - even if you get gazillions of traffic but your visitors are not interested in looking for ways to spend their money, they won't be interested in your ads and won't click.
