Does anyone have a google adsense account? Have you made any money with the adds?
Question:
Answers:
I'm actually making more money with AdSense for Search (the searchbar) than I am with AdSense for Content (the ads). Stating actual figures here is against the license agreement, but definitely way more than half the money is coming from the searches. Of course the performance will depend greatly on how the site is designed, and how likely people are to use the search engine or click on ads... and THAT will depend on how relative the ads are to the content people are currently reading. There are techniques you can use to guide Google to pick ads that are more relevant.
1. Put the key words in the URL
2. All titles and headings should contain key words.
3. Links to other sites should have keywords, and the sites being linked to should be relavent as well.
4. All images should have appropriate descriptors in the ALT attribute.
5. Where the ads are placed on the page will make a difference. If you've got relatively long, interesting articles, then people aren't going to want to click off the site until they're finished reading, so leaderboard format at the bottom of the page may work better then the top. When in doubt, experiment. And create custom reports in your AdSense account to track the results.
Why do I feel like I should be writing a book on the subject? :)

Google Adsense - It works well and on a few of my sites I make $500 to $600 per month!
Many sites use AdSense to monetize their content and some webmasters work hard to maximize their own AdSense income. They do this in three ways:
1.They use a wide range of traffic generating techniques including but not limited to online advertising.
2.They build valuable content on their sites; content which attracts AdSense ads and which pay out the most when they get clicked.
3.They use copy on their websites that encourage clicks on Ads. Note that Google prohibits people from using phrases like "Click on my AdSense ads" to increase click rates. Phrases accepted are "Sponsored Links" and "Advertisements".
