Why is the FOX affiliate in Atlanta showing the Mets-Marlins game instead of Boston-Chicago?
Question:
Answers:
Because they know your a Sox fan. And they hate you.
Because that's the only east coast game that Fox is showing anywhere. I also think it's a bit odd that they'd choose that one. It's true that the Mets are leading the NL, but Both Sox are in the top three of the AL, and the Sox series is definitely more important. Go figure. Even if they figure NYC is the biggest market, Boston & Chicago combined is bigger, even if you include Miami with New York.
Those teams are in the same division as Atlanta...or at least the team that used to be Atlanta.
Because part of the contract the TV networks have with major league baseball contains the phrase "regional contests." The Marlins are closer to Atlanta than Boston or Chicago. It makes no difference who you want to see - they decide for you who you'll get to see. It doesn't make any difference whether you like the teams or not - they're in your "region." Tell me that doesn't suck.
cause it's the national league game
