Are pre-K programs affiliated with public school elementaries free like the higher grades?
Question:
Answers:
Usually. Some pre k public school programs are for children who are identified with a disability; other programs are for children who qualify based on income (such as Early intervention programs), others (as in Florida) are VPK, for any child regardless of income. You will need to contact your local school board and see what type of pre k programs your school system offers. Each of the above mentioned programs are free here where I live, however, the VPK is only a half day program. If you choose to send your child all day, they charge a nominal $35.00 per week fee to extend to all day.
It all depends on where your at and if he has learning difficulties. I'm in Tennessee and if they have learning difficulties they will take him, but if not you have to pay for something like daycare.
