What religion did Benjamin Franklin follow, and what political party did he affiliate (did they even have them
Question:
Answers:
Franklin was a member of the Federalist Party. His religion is a bit harder to pin down. His parents were certainly church members and wanted him to become a clergyman. There are many quotes attributed to him that would indicate that he was an atheist believing in no god. Many of his writings suggest that he was a Deist believing there is a Supreme Being responsible for creation but having no involvment in man's lives. I think the most fitting term is Agnostic: he definitely believed in the Judeo-Christian God, but not in organized religion.
Ben was a quaker [think oatmeal] and i think he belonged to the Whigg party but not sure
